Oops. I'm so seriously behind in my happy things. I've been enjoying taking a little break from blogging over the past couple of weeks, sometimes it's important to take a step back from the computer and technology and do other things. So I've joined weeks 44 and 45 together and these are my four happy things from the past couple of weeks:
^^ September brings about two significant birthdays in our family. My Aunt turns 60 and I turn 40 (although I'm kind of in denial about this as in my head I'm still about 25 - ha!). To celebrate we are all getting together in a couple of weeks for a bit of a shindig and I've been creating a few little decorations for the party. I spotted this Pin to make these beautiful paper butterflies. I had a lot of fun doing these, they are so simple and yet so delicate and pretty. I'm not quite sure how to hang them yet, any suggestions?
^^ We met up with friends in Leeds yesterday to have a pizza lunch and then we hit the City Beach. Millennium Square has been transformed into a trip to the seaside complete with deckchairs, sandcastle building, candy floss stands, an helter skelter and all the fairground rides that your kid could nag you in to paying for. It was a great afternoon sitting in a stripy deckchair in the brilliant sunshine.
^^ I made this Moroccan Orange cake today. It's seriously delicious and also really simple to make. A little slice of cake heaven, which is always a good thing!
^^ And finally, a new Breton tshirt for my Autumn wardrobe. I don't buy many clothes these days but when i do, I want them to be classic pieces. This is a little gem of a top, organic cotton and only £8.
Hope you have all had happy weeks too. x
